I’m Wanda!
I am an Afro-Latina cis-gender woman with over 15 years of clinical experience, I am dedicated to helping marginalized families overcome intergenerational trauma. With a Ph.D. from Hofstra University, I specialize in maternal stress and mother-child dyads, working primarily with traumatized Latinx children and caregivers in NYC’s Washington Heights and Inwood. As a Clinical Director, I co-created a trauma-informed care paradigm rooted in anti-oppression and social justice, now promoting it nationally. I am also an Associate Professor at Columbia University and actively involved in several organizations, including the National Child Traumatic Stress Network, focusing on racial justice and decolonizing mental health.
